On Wednesday, my girl and a few friends went down to Market Theatre to go watch Songs of Migration. It was beautiful, so beautiful. Hugh is excellent a real legend, so relaxed, laid back, lyrical and extraordinarily comfortable on the stage  . His trumpeting blew my mind. For him alone the show was worth it. This is not to pay tribute to the singers because they were also incredible, so talented. It was definitely filled with plenty of 'holy moments' of sheer beauty. I also enjoyed the range of songs from Zulu to Xhosa, to Afrikaans, even German and English 'Songs of Migration'. I think what i liked most was its lack of pretense, it was just simple (yet far from simplistic) relaxed and yet profoundly beautiful.

If you haven't seen it, go check it out.
